Merton College hosts the first Thai Chemistry International Symposium
The first Thai Student Chemistry Symposium (TSCS) occurred on Saturday 18th May 2019, at Merton College, University of Oxford. TSCS, a non-profit organisation, aims to enhance research ideas and strengthen relationships between Thai students studying chemistry and related fields across the United Kingdom.
The conference, held in the T S Eliot Theatre, included talks from several Oxford Chemistry academics and attracted over 70 national and international students wishing to reinforce their academic expertise. In addition, the attendees were able to take advantage of networking opportunities and gain knowledge about science-related careers within Thailand, both public and private sectors.
TSCS was founded this year for the first time and its organising committee intend to hold an annual academic conference. We think this is a great achievement for a student to have arranged and the Merton College Events Team were team were delighted to play a significant role in making the day a successful one, with the symposium's organisers saying:
"The event on Saturday went very well, with excellent feedback from all participants. Without the support from your team and the College, this first TSCS would not have been this successful."
