Stelios Ioannou Centre for Classical and Byzantine Studies
The Stelios Ioannou Centre for Classical & Byzantines Studies opened in 2007 and houses the Faculty of Classics. It has been cleverly designed to incorporate the old architecture facing out on to the street and a modern building behind. It is located on St Giles, close to all of Oxford’s major transport links and hotels. The centre has a lecture theatre that can seat up to 100, an atrium space then can be used for drinks receptions, and the light and airy Outreach room on the front of the building providing exhibition, reception and meeting space. There are a further four seminar rooms located around the building that can be set up in a variety of ways. The rooms are available all year round.
All rooms offer full IT and audio/visual support including microphones, with both the Lecture Theatre and the First Floor Seminar Room also offering hearing induction loops for the hard of hearing. The Stelios Ioannou Centre is fully wheelchair accessible.
