Announcing new building developments at St Hilda’s College to begin this year
Nestled amongst stunning grounds with views over the spires of the city, St Hilda’s College truly showcases Oxford and its picturesque beauty.
To celebrate its 125th Anniversary, St Hilda’s College has announced plans to develop two areas on the main site which will be achieved with the construction of three new buildings designed to complement their exceptional riverside setting!
An additional 125 rooms for student accommodation and new teaching and social areas will be constructed, including: seminar rooms, an auditorium for lectures and masterclasses, a Terrace Cafe and flexible social spaces – facilities which will expand the college’s capacity to host more international conferences and meetings in vacation periods.
St Hilda’s College began discussions about this exciting development of their site in 2015. Since then, they have consulted widely with the full range of stakeholders, including the neighbouring colleges, and worked closely with members of Oxford Design Review Panel, Historic England and the Environment Agency as their plans have developed. Historic England concluded that the development will be
‘an elegant and attractive set of buildings, which is well adapted to its context'.
We cannot wait to see these designs come to life and are very excited about the prospects this development will bring to your future events.
