Fine Dining in the Sheldonian Theatre

Hold a memorable dinner in the University's iconic ceremonial hall

Designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the 17th-century Sheldonian Theatre is one of the most instantly recognisable buildings in Oxford. The theatre has been used as the University’s foremost ceremonial hall, which makes it an ideal venue for concerts and talks for up to 600 guests. Now, the team at this versatile venue are delighted to announce that you can now hold celebratory dinners in these unique surroundings.

The main theatre seats between 30 and 100 guests for dinner, making it a perfect venue for intimate celebrations, entertaining clients or celebrating your organisation’s achievements. Gaze up at the magnificent ceiling fresco while enjoying a standing or seated buffet, served 3-course meal or even sophisticated street food!

Start the evening by treating your guests to drinks in the historic attic, with access to the cupola which offers breath-taking panoramic views across the city.

For an even more memorable occasion, why not opt for a ‘Live Theatre’ experience, where chefs will cook and answer questions amongst the dining tables?
