Why not enjoy a drinks reception in the historic Sheldonian Theatre
Why not enjoy a drinks reception in the historic Sheldonian Theatre, the official ceremonial hall of Oxford University? Designed by Sir Christopher Wren and with Robert Streater's original painted canvas ceiling the University's ceremonial hall provides a stunning back drop for any drinks reception event. Their in-house caterers can provide drinks receptions for 50 to 250 guests, offering a choice of drinks packages and bespoke choices to suit all budgets.
To add a unique twist to your drinks reception, why not also book a one hour walking tour? On the walking tour visitors will see the University Church, the Clarendon and Bodleian Quadrangles and Radcliffe Square. Visitors will get to sit in the Ladies Gallery of the Sheldonian Theatre and hear about the origins of this magnificent building opened in 1669. Throughout the tour, visitors will learn how the University was formed and hear about its rebellious and violent past. Finish off the tour in style with a drinks reception for just you and your guests in the main theatre.
