Tea Time Takes Off

Fantastic Afternoon Tea success at Exeter College!

For four weeks over the Easter period Exeter College opened the doors of its grand Dining Hall to the public for afternoon teas.

While the college’s students were away, Exeter's award-winning chefs continued to put their creative flair to use and created a stunningly delicious take on the classic afternoon tea.

Attracting a wide range of visitors from across the globe, this unique opportunity to take tea in a quintessential Oxford college proved hugely popular with families, coach parties, conference groups, competition winners, office teams, and single patrons alike.

Diners were impressed by the quantity, variety and presentation of each afternoon tea option, and were particularly pleased to learn that each item – even the strawberry jam – was made with care on-site.

Conference Oxford and other local and online publicity soon spread the word and – despite the unpredictable English weather – the number of keen customers grew, with sales increasing week on week followed by glowing Tripadvisor reviews.

Exeter hopes to offer afternoon teas again in the future – so watch this space!
