Jesus College introduces the Cheng Yu Tung Building
Jesus College has recently opened the Cheng Yu Tung Building on its historic city centre site. The new £40m building, which is located on the corner of Cornmarket and Market Street, houses teaching and study spaces, meeting rooms and break-out spaces, a new raised fourth quad, café and postgraduate facilities. It is also home to the elegant Buchanan Tower Room – a new exhibition and events space with exceptional views across the Oxford skyline.
At the building’s heart is the Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub. Set across three floors connected by a stunning curved staircase, this unique space will harness the latest digital technologies to bring both College members and wider academia together, facilitating knowledge exchange, encouraging interdisciplinarity and innovation, and enhance the College’s work in access and public engagement. It will also be available as a venue for conferences and events, offering a range of flexible and accessible spaces, hybrid event facilities and (out of term-time) accommodation. Conference and event bookings will open at the end of January 2023.
