Weddings for 15 at the Bodleian Library

Wedding Update from the Bodleian Team

The Bodleian Library Weddings team hosted their first small wedding ceremony in early September. The team have since hosted five small wedding ceremonies, have another three confirmed, and many more that are pending.

The Bodleian’s smaller wedding ceremonies have had their fair share of creative moments. One couple personalised their wedding by getting one of their trusted party members to handcraft a personalised face covering: one for every guest. Call it a wedding favour, if you will. Planning Covid-19-secure weddings has been incredibly rewarding. The team have done everything they can to make these special days flow with ease, while also prioritising the safety of all guests, staff and suppliers.

One Bride sent the following feedback to the team: ‘It was the most perfect day and we definitely chose the right venue for our day too. You have been a dream to work with and we will be recommending you highly’ – Bride – married at the Bodleian on 27.09.2020

The Weddings team take great pride in these responses, because it shows that the venue suited the couple’s needs, and the team did everything they could to make it a memorable occasion.

The sheer volume of small enquiries have surprised the team, particularly when numbers dropped from 30 to 15. It demonstrates that despite ever-tightening restrictions, sheer determination and love is the driving force behind making these days happen. Despite the most recent national lockdown, The Bodleian Weddings team will continue to reach out to couples, and will be eager to offer virtual wedding show rounds until the easing of lockdown restrictions.
